Marisa Lynn Choate
Marisa Lynn Choate serves as Choate Herschman LLC’s Marketing Manager. Her creative abilities allow her to express what the firm is visually. She is responsible for the print and electronic needs of the firm with a focus on website development as well as design and use of social media.
She also creates quarterly comics for The Illinois Employee Advocate, a publication by the Illinois Chapter of the National Employment Lawyer’s Association (NELA/Illinois).
Ms. Choate's organizational skills have enabled her to juggle a busy schedule while curating gallery exhibitions, exhibiting her work, and publishing her works. Some of her recent exhibitions include Green Buddha Art Gallery, Solo Show in Aurora, Illinois and Access Living, Disability Culture Cabaret in Chicago, Illinois. Her recent publications have appeared in Giuseppina Magazine, American Salon Magazine, The Metropolitan d’Eroit, Dark Beauty Magazine, and School of the Art Institute of Chicago Fashion Magazine.
Ms. Choate is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) with her Masters in Fashion, Body, and Garment. During her Masters program, she served as a teacher assistant for at SAIC for various undergraduate classes as well as for SAIC’s Teacher Institute for Continuing Studies courses, and SAIC’s Continuing Studies department. After graduating, she served as a teacher SAIC’s Continuing Studies Department.
She earned her B.A. from Loyola University Chicago with a major in Art: Drawing and Painting as well as a minor in Women and Gender Studies. While at Loyola, she studied abroad in Rome.
Ms. Choate is a self-proclaimed “gym rat.” In her spare time, she has been working incessantly to train her American Blue Heeler, Pepper (adopted from The Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago), to go on runs with her without losing focus because of neighborhood cats, squirrels, or the mail delivery person.
